Operator interview - Anders Brandt, International Business Development Manager for Lyse

"Build a great IPTV service and the money will come...easy as that"

As the first instalment in a series of video interviews conducted with high-profile operators at the recent IPTV World Forum in London, we speak to Anders Brandt, International Business Development Manager for Norwegian fibre-to-the-home operator Lyse. Mr. Brandt sees making money from an IPTV based multi-play service as easy, providing you deliver a “top-notch, no fault, high-quality service like we do, and deliver it beautifully.” He said that if these criteria are met, operators should dare to ask for good money - and it will come.

Mr. Brandt also speaks on Lyse's “world record” £945 per year average subscriber revenues and says the Lyse service saves consumers money they would otherwise have spent on DVDs, magazines and general multimedia consumption. The revenues need to be high too: the company spends between £1,200 and £1,500 to bring a home onto the fibre network.

Lyse offers a triple-play service comprised of broadband, TV and telephony, and now has over 100,000 households on its fibre-based services.
