Lithuanian telco TEO has added three high-definition linear channels to its IPTV service 'Interactive GALA TV', making the channels available for free to subscribers receiving the service via fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and LAN connections.

The new channels are: Discovery HD, National Geographic Channel HD and Rush HD.  “We are rapidly developing our new-generation fibre-optic network, so in the short run we will be able to offer high-definition TV and the fastest Internet in the country to the majority of Lithuanian residents," said Nerijus Ivanauskas, Chief Marketing Officer of TEO.

TEO reached 45,215 subscribers for its IPTV service by the end of the first quarter of this year, adding 4,900 customers in the three-month period and posting a 96% year-on-year increase for the service.
