Monaco Telecom has unveiled plans to launch a new iPhone application in partnership with French firm Netgem, enabling subscribers of its IPTV service 'Monaco TV' to control the service via their mobile phone.
Monaco Telecom plans to introduce the new application in June of this year, enabled by the telco's use of NetgemTV middleware, which enable third-party developers to create new and engaging services, thanks to its exposed APIs.
“The iPhone is an enormously popular device amongst our customers, so it was a logical next step to work with Netgem to introduce such a mobile application,” said Martin Péronnet, Managing Director of Monaco Telecom. “The feature rich TV service we have created with Netgem, allows us to seamlessly integrate broadcast and Internet delivered content into one very easy user experience. Adding a mobile service is an exciting step in our innovation roadmap.”
Monaco TV offers linear and on-demand video and Media Centre functions, as well as a number of Internet-based services, including Web radio, local Internet TV and a service information portal.
