Norwegian triple-play operator Altibox (formerly Lyse Tele) has selected Swedish firm Agama Technologies to deploy its embedded set-top box monitoring solution to ensure Quality of Experience for the operator's IPTV services (both linear and on-demand).
The contract involves the initial installation of the solution with
250,000 set-top boxes operated by Altibox. Advanced Digital Broadcast
(ADB) won a contract last September to provide the operator with two
models of HD-capable IPTV set-top boxes, as part of Altibox's plans for
the expansion of its fibre-based IPTV services.
"To be able to fully understand and work proactively with our service quality in different parts of our organisation, we need to have deep knowledge of the service delivery in the customer premises, and Agama proved to be the obvious choice for this task," said Jarle Johnsen, Head of IPTV Engineering at Altibox. "With the introduction of Agama's Embedded Monitoring Solution we will be able to make both our NOC and customer care operations more effective, not to say significantly shorten our response times."
