Microsoft has launched its new MSN Video Player in the UK, a video-on-demand service accessible over the open Internet that enables UK consumers to watch content from a variety of providers including the BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
The service has been in beta since last August, and now has an expanded library of content offering over 1,000 hours of the UK's top shows, such as Kingdom, Waterloo Road and Skins, with many available in high-definition. Further content deals have also been signed with Endemol, All3Media, Shed Media and BBC Worldwide.
"The combined MSN Video and MSN Video Player will enable viewers to watch both TV shows and movies along with music videos, movie trailers, news and TV clips," said a Microsoft spokesperson. "We will continue to innovate in this space and work with advertisers, content owners and distributors."
