Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) has passed 100,000 subscribers for its IPTV service 'mio TV', up from 78,000 at the end of last March.
The milestone coincides with the service's second birthday, and to celebrate the telco is running a promotion whereby all new and existing customers can receive a special selection of ten movies which they can watch on-demand for free. In addition, throughout July all other movies from the service's video-on-demand library can be purchased for SGD 2 (US$ 1.37) each.
“It is nice to be able to give something back to our loyal customers who have helped us get to where we are today,” said Mr Low Ka Hoe, Director, IPTV Business, SingTel. “We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their support and I sincerely hope they will enjoy watching the movies we have chosen for them with their friends and family this July.”
SingTel claims to offer Singapore’s largest selection of HD content, ranging from documentaries and lifestyle features to movies, and all mio TV set-top boxes are HD-ready and provided free to subscribers. The service also includes interactive features such as the ability to rewind, pause and resume live TV and programme their PVR recordings via the Internet.
