Huawei has successfully tested the trial phase of its Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) network deployment project for Qatari telco Qtel.
The new GPON FTTH network is expected to deliver ultra-high speeds of up to 100 Mbps to houses in Mesaieed and Westbay Lagoon through the use of optical line terminal and optical network terminals, which can accommodate various application scenarios such as commercial buildings, residential apartments and villas.
Qtel's FTTH programme was announced last March, and is expected to last three years.
