Latens and Coship team up

Latens, a Belfast-headquartered provider of software CAS and middleware, and Chinese set-top box firm Coship have signed a partnership agreement to work together on delivering new solutions for IPTV and cable operators, based on Coship STBs and Latens CAS and middleware.

Latens' ECO is a middleware with pre-integrated CAS, which removes the costs of integration and reduces future support and maintenance fees.  The solution has been deployed in the EU and US, and enables operators to offer an enhanced TV service including time-shift TV, over-the-top video and full DVR functionality.

“We believe that integrating with Latens' cardless CAS and middleware means that the features in our STB are able to be maximised by operators and viewers, taking the viewing experience to a new level without imposing great additional cost,” said Ruiliang Yang, General Manager for International Business and Global Sales at Coship.
