Slovenian firm BeeSmart has introduced a new version of its middleware called BeeSmart Lite, which the company is making available online and free of charge.
As part of a novel strategy to gain more market share, the company is including the main features within the new software package, which is targeted in particular at technically skilled operators and system integrators who are seeking an easily accessible platform which can be used in pilot projects, and in the first stages of commercial projects.
There are five hundred end-user licences included in the package, together with documentation to help installing, configuring and running the system. There is also a safe migration path defined for users, who would like to switch later from the lite version to the full version and gain extended features, more end-user licences, support and regular updates.
“Our latest research has shown that there is an increased distinct demand for an easily accessible IPTV solution, which would provide a test bed and a safe transition into the commercial model of an IPTV service offering,” said Matjaz Bevk, CEO of BeeSmart. “We aim to increase our customer’s satisfaction not only by developing a powerful and innovative IPTV middleware solution, but also by offering it in a way that caters to the customer’s expectations.”
BeeSmart Lite will be available first to visitors of the IPTV World Forum (being held in London later this month) at the BeeSmart booth. Three weeks after the event it will then be released to the general public, accessible via download from the company’s website.
