Orange adds Arabic children's channels

Orange has signed a deal with content distributor Thema to add two Arabic-language children's channels to its French pay-TV service 'Orange TV' (delivered via IPTV and satellite).

The first channel, called 'Baraem', is a free-to-view channel aimed at preschool children between three and six years old, offering a range of programming intended to help them develop their social skills and intuition.  The second channel is Al Jazeera Children's Channel (JCC), an edutainment channel aimed at children between seven and 15 years old which features debates, thematic magazines, game shows and TV shows.

Both channels are available within Orange TV's Arabic package, which costs €4.90 per month.  Orange had reached 2.916mn subscribers to its pay-TV services across all markets by the end of the third quarter of this year, up 67% year-on-year, with the vast majority of these located in France.
