Falcon Broadband Secures IP Network with Verimatrix December 14, 2006 - Verimatrix has announced that Falcon Broadband has selected the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS™) to provide digital video content security over the carrier’s IP network. Falcon plans on launching the new IPTV service in Q2 2007 when it has completed its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) IP network in the Colorado market place.
Falcon is a local-exchange carrier (CLEC) that sells a combination of Internet service, traditional phone service, voice over-IP service, cable television, wireless networks and FTTH networking services. “Content security was a big piece of the puzzle for our IPTV service in order to gain access to the best content,” said Randy DeYoung, president and CEO of Falcon Broadband. “Verimatrix was an easy decision for us because of its innovative approach to content security, the straightforward integration and technical support, and most importantly, the fact that we can easily grow into the solution as we gain new subscribers.”
