Archer Launches Indian IPTV Platform for Expats

August 21, 2006 - The first television channel for the Indian expatriate community was launched on a pioneering Indian Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) platform, www.IndiaTVLive.com, inaugurated today by India's Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Vyalar Ravi, in New Delhi. Los Angeles-based Archer Entertainment Media Communications Incorporated conceived and developed IndiaTVLive after investing $1.5 million.

IBL has begun streaming a variety of content from India, including news, sports and entertainment in several Indian languages to 40 million Indians living outside of India and 1.2 billion Indian subscribers in India. IndiaTVLive.com is believed to be a pioneer in IPTV, providing television channels from India carried on a real time, live basis from India to subscribers anywhere in the world on any and every device capable of receiving high speed Internet.

IBL was conceived and is operated by an enterprising group of technology, content and marketing partners; media entrepreneur and Archer COO, Munish Gupta, and Abhesh Verma, founder and CEO of www.Smashits.com, the Indian entertainment portal.

Verma said,"The opportunity to reach both inside and outside of India to the largest population of affluent consumers of any expatriate group in the world is both enticing and exciting. By teaming with Archer, a resourceful and aggressive global company, and using the very latest technology, we will be the very voice of India to the world."

Gupta, said, "In teaming up with Abhesh, the technology and the broadcasters from India, Archer will bring to the world real time, live relay of news, sports and entertainment as it happens from one of the fastest growing and dynamic countries in the world. This is just the beginning of what Archer and IBL intend to deliver."

"Archer's relationship with IBL is a strategic one as well as an investor," said Paul Ebeling, Chairman, Archer Entertainment Media Corporation, Inc. Ebeling, speaking from India, accompanied by Archer China Executive Vice President for Asia Business Development, Jun Chen, added that Archer "strongly believes in the road map set out by Munish and Abhesh." Archer's global talent database, GET online, offering global visibility of entertainment industry personnel from India and China to potential employers around the world is a feature of IndiaTVLive.com. Archer's China division, China Broadcast Live (CBL) is gearing up to begin broadcasting via the Internet to a potential audience of a billion consumers within China itself, and to an estimated 30 million Chinese living around the world. "The IBL team will use their expertise and experience to collaborate with CBL on the set up of its China facility and it's PCO TV Channel."
