It is being deployed for Georgia’s second largest telecom operator, NewNet Telecommunications (NewNet).
Telrad Networks is a leading IP/NGN (Next Generation Network) solution provider and system integrator for telecom carriers. The new network has been designed to meet NewNet's growth and capacity requirements for the next ten years. This is a multi-vendor network that also includes Amino set-top boxes, BitBand video servers and Optibase IPTV platforms. Utilising Orca’s RiGHTv middleware to provide broadcast television and VOD, the initial project phase will focus on ten regions including Tbilisi and Kutaisi. A second phase will expand the system into other parts of the country. “NewNet’s main priority for their deployment is to provide at high quality and reliable connection and the wide range of advanced IP-based services to subscribers,” says Dror Pockard, president and CEO of Telrad. “We are very pleased that they chose Telrad for our vast telecom experience and best-of-breed, single point of integration approach.”
