Nagravision to secure HanseNet’s Alice IPTV service

April 21st, 2006 - The Telecom Italia subsidiary HanseNet has selected content protection specialist Nagravision to secure its Alice IPTV service in Germany.

The NagraIP content security solution gives HanseNet a secure platform for its 100+ free digital TV and premium Pay TV channels to be broadcast to consumers over broadband DSL.

Under its brand Alice, HanseNet will launch the service prior to the FIFA World Cup football tournament (which starts in June). Nagravision says the IPTV operator has leveraged its “ability to rapidly and efficiently deploy secure IPTV solutions, integrating an extensive range of best-in-class partners.”

NagraIP will enable HanseNet to introduce value-added services such as VOD as it develops it commercial offer.
