Tranzas Selects SecureMedia's Encryptonite System(R) to Provide IPTV Content Security in Japan

March 15th, 2006-- SecureMedia and Tranzas, Inc. announced today that Tranzas has licensed SecureMedia's Encryptonite System CA/DRM software for integration into their end-to-end IPTV system.

Tranzas provides complete IPTV solutions including multi-format streaming servers, IP set-top boxes and middleware for user navigation, content management and billing. Tranzas also provides ITVs (interactive TVs which are LCD-based displays) that include a removable STB card module to provide VOD, Internet access and other capabilities.

SecureMedia's Encryptonite System provides the essential Conditional Access (CA) and Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection of broadcast television and video-on-demand (VOD) content distributed over broadband Internet Protocol (IP) networks. The Encryptonite System is an open platform CA/DRM software system that protects multiple video formats. The system also features an ultra-light, processor efficient client for low cost integration in a multitude of resource constrained consumer devices.
