NBC Universal and Aeon Digital Announce On Demand Deal For Movie and TV Event February 7, 2006 NBC Universal and Aeon Digital, a leading provider of Internet-based entertainment, today announced an agreement that will make NBC Universal movies and TV events content available to Aeon Digital customers through their DV-220 set top boxes.
On demand titles will be available for a 24-hour viewing period after purchase. Aeon Digital's network can be accessed for free by consumers who purchase the DV-220 set top box, which launches in Spring 2006. By connecting to the online network, consumers can access millions of songs, radio programming and thousands of theatrical films. In addition, the DV-220 includes a built-in DVR with hard drive storage, a wireless router and firewall for added security when using the Internet. The device also includes an electronic programming guide (EPG) to locate favorite TV programs.
On demand movies from the Universal film library include Academy-Award winning films "Ray" and "The Motorcycle Diaries, recent titles such as "The Skeleton Key" and 'The Wedding Date" as well as upcoming premieres of "The 40-Year Old Virgin" and "The Constant Gardener" Specials and stunts include "Jerry Springer Uncensored", "5th Wheel" and "Blind Date franchises". Family-friendly programming includes "Kicking & Screaming," the "Balto series and "The Land before Time". In addition, "Laura Sin Censura", one of the most successful Hispanic VOD offerings to date, will also be available to Aeon Digital customers.
