What do you perceive as the key elements in providing a good IPTV service?

You need to have in place three elements; great content; appropriate pricing and marketing; and an excellent user interface. This is effectively the 'three legged stool' that any service provider will need to compete effectively in this expanding and competitive market.

How do you see the UK IPTV market developing?

In the development of IPTV services I believe that great content is going to be absolutely key. Without the access to good content you won't have a chance of developing a coherent service. For telcos who are only now getting into the market, developing IPTV becomes a much longer, harder and more expensive process, as they don't have those content provider relationships in place. Telcos are used to dealing with markets in which they have a monopoly. But in this market the content owners, the broadcasters and the record labels, are in the driving seat.
