Ericsson signs Viaccess as IPTV/IMS support partner

December 1, 2008 - Ericsson has signed an agreement with Viaccess for the latter to provide security software and services in support of IMS-based IPTV solutions.

Telecoms operators such as Portugal's Sonaecom have started to adopt Ericsson's latest IMS-based solutions, and under the new agreement Viaccess will leverage its advanced security solutions and services further to telcos via Ericsson.

“Viaccess strongly believes that future revenues for the operators will come from interactivity, interoperability and flexibility requiring cross platform services," said Francois Moreau de Saint Martin, CEO of Viaccess. "This business strategy requires a secured environment to support the sustainable development of the content industry.”
