Alice introduces booking in advance for VOD titles
November 26, 2008 - French telco Alice, recently acquired from Telecom Italia by the Iliad Group, has introduced a new feature for subscribers to its IPTV service "Alice TV', allowing users to reserve and rent video on demand titles in advance via a dedicated website accessible from any computer, for later playback on their TV.
The new feature enables users to access the VOD title immediately upon their return home, as well as allowing parents to rent films for their children remotely while ensuring that only suitable content can be viewed. The new dedicated portal also displays information such as top VOD sales and real-time news.
Alice had 850,000 DSL subscribers by the end of the third quarter of this year, but has not divulged recent numbers for its IPTV service.
