Orange Spain selects Witbe to monitor IPTV service

October 8, 2008 - Orange Spain has selected French firm Witbe to deliver a monitoring solution and carry out tests on the quality of its IPTV and video on demand services, delivered via ADSL.

The monitoring solution is comprised of IPTV-VoD robots deployed in six major cities around Spain, which are connected to the services at the end of network, from the behind the Live Box and set-top box.  The robots continuously emulate customer behaviour, change channels, order and VoD content, and Orange Spain can access the reports from a central multifunctional portal.

The robots deliver real-time information such as the availability of standard and premium channels, as well as VoD services; channel changing time and navigation through interactive services; image quality delivered on different TV channels, via the Witbe VideoMOS indicator, based on the detection of visual artifacts; and sound quality, via the Witbe AudioMOS indicator, which calculates sound level, audio bandwidth, saturation and silences.
