Alcatel-Lucent evolves Network Analyzer into single integrated testing solution
October 1, 2008 - Alcatel-Lucent has evolved its 5530 Network Analyzer (NA) into a single integrated testing solution for DSL-based broadband access networks, bringing improved service quality for broadband and IPTV operators deploying the widely-used solution.
Enhancements include a customer care interface that enable service provider staff to provide immediate support when faced with end-user issues; Dynamic Line Management (DLM) which automatically sets digital subscriber lines to work with their optimal parameters, improving stability and service quality; and greater insight into DSL loop line quality, enabling "dramatic" operational expenditure reductions up to a claimed 70%.
"The continued market traction of Alcatel-Lucent's 5530 Network Analyzer confirms our long-standing leadership and innovation spirit in fixed broadband access," said Luis Martinez Amago, President of Alcatel-Lucent's fixed access activities. "Not only do we deliver the best-in-class network elements, but we are also the industry's unmatched experts in the development of software-based solutions that help service providers manage their DSL infrastructure in such a way that service requirements can be met throughout all stages of the service's roll-out."
Alcatel-Lucent reports that its 5530 Network Analyzer solution now has over 25mn DSL lines under management, and has been deployed by over 50 service providers around the world, including KPN, Telstra, SingTel and Shaanxi Telecom. The solution support both Alcatel-Lucent and third party digital subscriber line access multiplexers.
The company has also recently introduced its new targeted advertising solution for IPTV operators and a new evolution of its Triple Play Service Delivery Architecture (TPSDA).
