T-Home and emuse launch Bundesliga Interaktiva service

August 28, 2008 - T-Home, the IPTV division of Deutsche Telekom, and UK firm emuse have launched an interactive IPTV application called Bundesliga Interaktiva, which enables T-Home subscribers to enjoy games from the German premier football league in new ways.

The application features coverage of up to nine concurrent live matches every game weekend, the facility to watch a variety of those games simultaneously and to access "catch up" footage enabling viewers to see selected match highlights from as little as 30 seconds after they occur. The service also offers club updates, player news and match statistics. Full games and match highlights are then archived and can be viewed at any time by T-Home subscribers by pressing the blue button dedicated to the service, navigating the T-Home interactive services menu or entering the dedicated Bundesliga Interaktiva channel number.

T-Home subscribers can access video clips for every significant event in all Bundesliga football matches both live and retrospectively for the whole season, as well as construct play lists for the entire league and for individual teams in the league.

“emuse has an unparalleled track-record in live IPTV deployments having worked with companies including British Telecom and T-Home” says Patrick Rainsford, CEO of emuse “It is especially rewarding, however, to have deployed the Bundesliga Interaktive service which we believe is the most sophisticated event-driven and video rich application yet deployed on the Microsoft Mediaroom platform anywhere in the world."

emuse and T-Home launched a Beta release of the service at the end of the 2007/08 season and extra features in the latest release include a live summary of all games currently being played, a league table, top scorers list and an at-a-glance view of all games being played on the current day. The two companies expect to announce further developments to their working relationship in the coming months.
