Swisscom selects IneoQuest monitoring solutions

August 28, 2008 - Swisscom has chosen IneoQuest's IQPinPoint Multi-dimensional Video Quality Management System to manage end-to-end quality monitoring of their IPTV service "Bluewin TV".

The IQPinPoint system deployed by Swisscom uses the IneoQuest family of network probes including IQMediaMonitor for head-end and core, as well as the new Cricket family of probes for network edge to the customer premise and the iVMS, a video quality management system designed ot remotely monitor and automatically troubleshoot video quality across the entire network.

"Bluewin TV next-generation television services are expected to give consumers a highly personalised, highly integrated on-demand viewing experience, while enabling operators to rapidly introduce new applications,” said Philippe Vuilleumier, Head of Network & IT Operation at Swisscom. Bluewin TV offers a range of services including a live pause function, easy-to-use recording functions via remote control, mobile phone or the Internet, and video on demand rentals. Swisscom recently reported that it ended the first half of this year with 80,000 subscribers for its "Bluewin TV" IPTV service, double the figure one year previously.
