Avail Media provides linear content for 20 commercial IPTV services across US
August 27, 2008 - US content aggregator Avail Media has announced that its linear content has been included in 20 IPTV services that have been commercially launched by US service providers across 14 states.
The launch of these 20 linear affiliates adds to Avail Media's 25 video on demand affiliates that are already live in market, and brings the total number of customers for its linear and/or vide on demand services to 94.
“Our dedication to providing subscribers with the content and high-quality experience they expect made Avail Media the only choice for our linear IPTV deployment,” said Mitch Drake, Vice President of Plant Operations at Sebastian, a US telco based in California and one of the Avail Media's new customers. “While IPTV has created huge opportunities, it also poses significant challenges. Avail Media has provided us with the content and services we need to keep our subscribers happy.”
Avail Media delivers an extensive content library, including transport rights from top US programmers including ABC-Disney, Turner, NBC Universal, MTV Networks, and Fox Cable Networks, as well as VOD rights from major Hollywood movie studios such as Buena Vista/Disney, DreamWorks, Lionsgate Films, MGM, NBC Universal, New Line Cinema, Paramount, 20th Century Fox, and Warner Bros. Avail Media also offers a proprietary software suite, ViewTrak, which provides both carriers and content providers the ability to track programming activations in real-time.
