Romania's iNES invests €500k in increasing network capacity

August 19, 2008 - Romanian ISP iNES has completed the installation of a 10Gbps fibre-optic backbone in its network with an investment of €500,000 (US$732,800), as part of preparations to extend the availability of its services and offer new channels on its IPTV service.

The project was part of an investment programme proposed in May and worth €2mn across 2008. "We offer customers services of the highest quality and must maintain a network in perfect running order to provide services for both business customers and clients for IPTV," said Lucian Bîlă, Director of Sales for the iNES Group.

iNES currently offers over 150 channels on its IPTV service, part of a triple-play package of voice, data and TV. The company posted a turnover of €6.5mn for 2007.
