OpenTV sees revenues increase 17% in Q2
August 8, 2008 - OpenTV, a US provider of solutions for the delivery of advanced digital television and cross-platform interactive services, experienced a 17% year-on-year revenue growth in the second quarter of 2008 to reach US$26.8mn, while also reporting that it broke even in the period, compared to a US$4.8mn loss in the same period of last year.
Revenues from the Middleware Solutions segment reached US$23.5mn between April and June of this year, compared to US$20.2mn in the same period of last year, while revenue from the Advertising Solutions segment reached US$3.3mn, compared to US$2.8mn for the same period of last year.
”Our financial results for the second quarter and first half of 2008 demonstrate the successful execution of our plan to grow our core business while improving costs and profitability,” said CEO Ben Bennett. “We have continued to grow our global middleware market share as we work to deepen relationships with existing customers as well as acquire new customers and enter new markets including a recent significant customer win in Japan. On the advanced advertising side, our EclipsePlus product is beginning to be deployed by leading operators. Overall, we are on track with our plans for the year.”
