August 8, 2008 - Tilgin, a Swedish provider of IP customer premises equipment, has won an order for its IPTV technology from the broadband subsidiary of a multi-utility company in Denmark, reported to be one of the country's largest.
The value of the initial order is approximately US$0.5mn, and Tilgin will be delivering its high-definition Mood 400 IP set-top boxes and management software as part of its end-to-end IPTV ecosystem. "Winning this deal is yet another proof that Tilgin enables operators to take full advantage of the next generation broadband services", says Ola Berglund CEO at Tilgin. "Tilgin is in a strong position to leverage its technological leadership as operators across Europe invest in order to offer high-definition IPTV."
The Danish utility has reportedly deployed a Fibre to the Home (FTTH) network and will offer a range of next-generation broadband services, including high-definition IPTV. The utility is reported to currently have over 100,000 residential and business customers.
