Actiontec and Entropic partner to deliver CPE for IPTV homes
August 6, 2008 - Semiconductor firm Entropic Communications has partnered with Actiontec Electronics, a provider of broadband connectivity and broadband-powered solutions, to deliver high-performance, next generation customer premises equipment for high-speed fibre network installations.
Actiontec reports that it has successfully incorporated Entropic's Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) compliant chipsets to enable a robust digital entertainment network delivering multiple streams of HD video throughout the home and using the existing coax cable infrasructure. Actiontec's latest wireless broadband router incorporates Entropic's new coaxial network controller to deliver all the new features of MoCA 1.1, including high speed (175 Mbps), parameterised quality of service (PQoS), 16-node support and remote diagnostic capability.
