IPTV Industry Association launches in Korea

July 18, 2008 - A new organisation called the IPTV Industry Association has launched in Korea, following the green light from the country's Knowledge Economy Ministry.

The organisation was formed as a business working group earlier this year and includes big name members such as KT, LG Dacom and KBS, as well as 40 small and medium sized solution developers.  The founding members reportedly decided to open the organisation to other members to attract local companies to the IPTV industry and drive growth.

The association intends to host seminars on industry outlook and technology, participate in public hearings for relevant laws, provide a large scale industry exhibition and become involved in joint IPTV systems projects in other countries.
