BT Vision offers free Setanta Sports subscription

July 14, 2008 - UK incumbent telco BT is offering a free subscription to premium sports channel Setanta Sports 1 with the new Bronze, Silver and Gold viewing packages offered for its "BT Vision" IPTV service.

Setanta Sports 1 offers 46 live Barclays Premier League football games, 60 live Clydesdale Bank Premier League games, live action from every round of the FA Cup, home nations World Cup qualifiers, live US PGA Tour Golf, live World Championship boxing and other top-flight sport. The Bronze viewing package costs £14 per month, offering two viewing packs from Picture Box, for film fans, Kids, Standard Sports, and Music; the Silver viewing package costs £18 per month for three viewing packs, and the Gold package costs £20 per month for all four packages.

BT Vision had a reported 214,000 subscribers at the end of the first quarter of this year, making it the dominant IPTV provider in the UK.
