Telekom Slovenije holds 60.4% of Slovenian IPTV market, says APEK
July 10, 2008 - Slovenia's incumbent telco Telekom Slovenije has seen its share of the national IPTV market fall by three percentage points year on year in the first quarter of 2008 to reach 60.4%, according to a report by the Agency for Post and Electronic Communications (APEK).
Alternative telco T2 followed in second place with a gain of just under 1% to reach a 36.3% share of Slovenia's IPTV market, with Amis and Tus Telekom accounting for the remaining 3.3%. Telekom Slovenije was also the leading provider of broadband services in the period, though its market share fell slightly to 49.2%, and fibre operator T2 again followed in second place with a 16.8% slice of the market, followed by Amis with 8.8%, UPC Telemach with 8.3% and Tus Telekom with 3.2%.
Telekom Slovenije is also the largest provider of VoIP services with a 47.9% share of the market, and APEK stated that VoIP services doubled their overall market share of fixed line telephony services to 17.3%,
