Entone wins Swiss IPTV deployments
July 10, 2008 - Swiss ISP Netstream has selected customer premises equipment from US firm Entone for its high-definition IPTV service deployments in the country.
Netstream is a provider of managed services and systems integration to a number of telcos in Switzerland, and selected Entone's Hydra HD IPTV video gateway and Amulet HD IPTV receiver for the service deployments. "Our customers wanted a reliable solution that would allow them to rapidly deploy IPTV services," said Reto Kasser, CTO of Netstream. "We needed a robust IPTV set-top solution that was integrated with Minerva Networks' iTVManager middleware platform. We selected the Entone solution because of its field-proven track record and its capability to use existing in-home wiring infrastructure."
Entone's Hydra HD and Amulet HD products support the deployment of high-definition IPTV services using MPEG-4 compression, and offer a range of optional features including digital video recording, a DVB-T/DVB-C tuner for over-the-air broadcasts, and support for a range of home networking technologies including 802.11n, HomePlug and HomePNA 3.0.
