Belgacom TV updates football packages for new season
June 30, 2008 - Belgian incumbent telco Belgacom has released details of new football packages to be offered to subscribers of its "Belgacom TV" IPTV service, following the company's recent purchase of the broadcasting rights for the national Jupiler League for the next three seasons.
The "All Foot" package will offer all the major games and the "Multi Live" service, which gathers a variety of games in one place for simultaneous viewing, as well as the transmission of some matches in high-definition, and will cost €19.95 per month. The "My Club" package will offer access to home and away matches of a favourite team and cost €9.95 per month. The "Movie & Sport" package will continue to offer the Multi Live service, while the "Classic+" package will now include one free match instead of two.
All matches will also be made available on pay per view on an individual basis, costing €5-10 per match. Finally, the package "My Club Season Pass" will offer access to all of the season's matches of a nominated team, costing €90 for 34 matches. Belgacom reports that it had 349,000 customers for Belgacom TV at the end of the first quarter of this year, representing an increase of 44,000 customers during these three months.
