SpectrumNet introduces FTTH triple-play in Bulgaria

June 27, 2008 - Bulgarian alternative telco SpectrumNet has introduced a triple-play service of voice, data and IPTV in the capital Sofia, delivered using passive optical networking (PON) over a fibre to the home (FTTH) network, according to local sources.

The company aims to cover 80% of Sofia by the end of this year and will commence PON deployment in the towns of Burgas and Varna, said Teodor Zahov, Executive Director of SpectrumNet. The triple-play service costs BNG56-80 (US$45-64) per month and includes HD programming.

The IPTV service is being provided in partnership with local service provider Vestitel BG.
