Avail Media launches MPEG4 HD service for video providers June 23, 2008 - US firm Avail Media has launched a lineup of MPEG4 high-definition content aimed at telcos and cable operators wishing to rapidly offer HD video content to their subscribers.
The lineup offers 56 high-definition channels, including ABC Family HD, Disney CHannel HD, ESPN HD, Universal HD, National Geographic HD, a suite of HBO HD channels, Cinemax HD channels, NFL Network HD, Animal Planet HD and Discovery HD.
“HD programming is becoming the new must-have for providers of television services,” said Ramu Potarazu, CEO of Avail Media. “Avail Media is about providing a stable platform from which we can continually grow new, value-added services for our affiliates. We recognise today that HD content is critical for our affiliates. Service providers already using Avail Media’s end-to-end solutions to deliver IPTV services to subscribers operate in a variety of markets across the United States, including Texas, Arizona, California, Nevada, North Carolina and Illinois, as well as in the Caribbean markets of Guam and Trinidad, among others.
