June 19, 2008 - Israeli middleware provider Orca Interactive has revealed plans to expand into the Asia Pacific market, supported by the existing presence in the region of its parent company Viaccess.
As part of this strategic expansion, Orca Interactive will start business development activities across the region during the third quarter of this year. The company plans to market not only its RiGHTv middleware but also its new COMPASS content discovery platform, first revealed at IBC 2007.
“By extending the company's footprint in key Asia Pacific markets, Orca is delivering on its long-term commitment to the advancement of IPTV worldwide, now supported by Viaccess," said Sefy Ariely, Orca Interactive VP Sales and Marketing. "This move, coupled with our vast experience gained in IPTV rollouts across Europe, the US and Latin America, is testament to the maturity of our solution and to the advantages available to operators in APAC from our ever-expanding portfolio of services, technologies and partnerships. The IPTV market in Asia is on the rise and we are confident that this expansion will create exciting opportunities for further growth."
Orca's Chief Technical Officer, Dr. Ofer Weintraub, is speaking about the latest developments in IPTV, including Web 2.0 services and IPTV convergence, at the CommunicAsia and Broadcast Asia conferences currently taking place in Singapore.
