Win Multimedia selects Verimatrix content security for WinTV
June 18, 2008 - Win Multimedia, a Thai provider of IPTV services, has selected a content security solution from Verimatrix to protect its IPTV service, named "WinTV".
Verimatrix's Video Content Authority System (VCAS) will secure content delivered to WinTV's base of over 500,000 subscribers. The service provides 60 channels of digital TV, a catch-up format, video on demand and interactive services such as karaoke, sms, games, e-learning and shopping, delivered to both televisions via a set-top box and to PC screens.
“Win Multimedia’s success is grounded in our ability to give our subscribers the content they want, when they want it, including sports coverage and on demand movies," said Jintavee Sawadisevee, Chief Information Officer for Win Multimedia. "We can only do this if the content owners trust Win Multimedia’s ability to protect their premium content all through our distribution chain. Verimatrix provides us with the capability to secure WinTV content at every stage, including across our wireless distribution networks. VCAS for IPTV also integrates well with our partners and component vendors, which is an important consideration for protecting our investments.”
Verimatrix reports that it worked closely with hardware and software partners, including content delivery platform provider DigiSoft, to roll out the content security deployment for Win Multimedia.
