Amino acquires AssetHouse Technologies, appoints new CEO

June 10, 2008 - Set-top box firm Amino has completed its acquisition of AssetHouse Techologies,a UK specialist in digital proposition management, for around £1.4mn (US$2.74mn) in cash on a debt-free basis.

Amino reports that it expects the deal to broaden the range of technologies Amino can offer to IPTV service operators of all sizes, and will also give Amino access to the emerging online video services market.  AssetHouse generated revenues of around £0.4mn in the 12 months to May 2008, and had an operating loss of about £1.4mn.

AssetHouse Technologies was previously owned by investors including BT and LMS Capital.  The company was involved in BT's Colchester trials, involving one of the world's first multi-service interactive TV platforms, and its AssetFactory platform is used to support digital proposition management for BT Vision.

“Under the Amino product umbrella we will be able to provide a far richer set of services – our combined expertise and experience will create an exciting proposition, and we’re looking forward to taking it to a market that we know is waiting,” said Jonathan Callcut, CEO of AssetHouse.

In addition to the acquisition, Amino has also announced the appointment of Andrew Burke as CEO. Mr. Burke was previously CEO of BT Entertainment, where he devised and ran the company's IPTV initiative (BT Vision), pioneered their Digital Media Services and led their relationships with the media world.
