NDS leads new DRM vendor rankings
June 9, 2008 - NDS has been ranked top of a new Digital Rights Management (DRM) vendor matrix released by ABI Research, followed by Widevine in second place then Verimatrix in third.
“There is really very little separating the top three vendors in the Digital Rights Management Vendor Matrix," said ABI Research analyst Zippy Aima. "All offer good individualised technological solutions. NDS took top honours mainly on account of its larger market share. Widevine and Verimatrix are relatively new in the market, and their rapid success in gaining market share is commendable. On the basis of longevity in the market and number of customers, however, NDS has to be considered the market leader.”
Vendors are assessed on the parameters of “innovation” and “implementation” across several criteria specific to each matrix.
