Update - Alcatel-Lucent selected to enhance aonTV in time for Euro 2008
May 30, 2008 - In an update to today's story on the launch of high-definition content and time-shifting functionality for subscribers of Telekom Austria's "aonTV" IPTV service, Alcatel-Lucent has been named as the vendor contracted to implement the service enhancements.
“Alcatel-Lucent is our trusted partner for the delivery of IPTV middleware and the related integration services, enabling us to enrich our aonTV offering with a range of innovative applications,” said Hannes Ametsreiter, Chief Marketing Officer, Telekom Austria TA AG and Chief Officer Marketing, Sales & Customer Services, mobilkom Austria. “From June on, we can offer the aonTV users the newest time-shift TV functionalities without additional investment. Our customers can now enjoy a higher degree of convenience and freedom to watch the programs they want.”
Alcatel-Lucent is a major player in the provision of end-to-end triple-play networks, currently deploying its Triple Play Service Delivery Architecture (TPSDA) with over 50 service providers worldwide.
