Telekom Austria adds HD and time-shift to aonTV
May 30, 2008 - Telekom Austria is adding high-definition content and the facility for time-shifting to its "aonTV" IPTV service, which currently has 45,000 subscribers and is available to 52% of the country.
The new Zusatzpaket HD Videothek package will offer a combination of blockbuster films, documentaries and music videos and is priced at €4.90 per month, on top of the service's monthly subscription fee of €34.90. The recently launched high-definition channel from Austrian national broadcaster Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF), called ORF HD, will also be made available and carry coverage of the upcoming Euro 2008 football tournament, kicking off in Austria on June 7.
aonTV's time-shift function, called Zeitversetzt TV, is being offered to all subscribers at no extra charge, allowing viewers to replay broadcast content from the previous 90 minutes. Channels featuring time-shift are RTL, Pro 7, Sat 1, RTL 2, Super RTL, VOX, N-TV, 9live and Pulse 4.
