Tilgin CTO joins Board of Directors at Home Gateway Initiative
May 28, 2008 - Peter Galyas, Chief Technology Officer at Tilgin, a Swedish provider of IP customer premises equipment, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Home Gateway Initiative (HGI), strengthening Tilgin's ties with the organisation.
The Swedish firm has already been a member of the Home Gateway Initiative since 2005, and has been involved in developing the HGI's specifications for IMS and multi-access usage of home gateways including fibre access, as well as efforts to ensure compatibility of home gateways with IPTV services.
“Tilgin's mission to ’service-connect the home’ is in solid alignment with much of the ambitions of the HGI," commented Ola Berglund, CEO of Tilgin. "As a new member to the HGI board, Tilgin is taking a leading role in setting the standards required to evolve home gateways into intelligent service nodes for mass deployments of next-generation broadband services.”
The Home Gateway Initiative counts 60 operators and technology vendors as members, and board members include representatives from BT, Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom and Telefonica.
