KPN seals content deal with Videoland

May 28, 2008 - Dutch telco KPN has signed a content deal with video rental chain Videoland which will expand the range of films available on the telco's IPTV service from June 1.

The films will be offered on-demand under the Videoland brand, and prices will vary between €0.99 and €4.99 per film. The selection is expected to be updated weekly, and will include the adventure film 10,000 BC, documentary films and Dutch productions Moordwijven and Alibi.

The agreement is expected to strengthen KPN's existing library considerably, as Videoland has contracts with many film studios, including some major US ones, and is expected to close more deals with Hollywood studios in coming months. KPN has previously reported that it closed the first quarter of this year with 553,000 subscribers to its IPTV service.
