NDS adds new office in India
May 20, 2008 - Content protection firm NDS has opened a new sales and support office in the Indian city of New Delhi, with two offices now supporting the local market's growth as well as an R&D centre.
The company's existing client base in the country includes Tata Sky, Hathway Cable, Datacom, Bharti Airtel and Digital Entertainment Network (DEN). NDS reports that it already has a total of 900 staff in the country.
"NDS is very optimistic about the growth of the Indian pay-TV market and we are honoured to be the partner of choice for leading broadcasters, platform operators, and service providers delivering the latest services and content to subscribers," said Sue Taylor, VP and General Manager of NDS Asia Pacific. "The opening of our sales and support office in New Delhi allows us to enhance our reach and local support capabilities and to better serve our existing and future customers."
Consulting and research firm Media Partners Asia projects that India's digital pay TV market will lead the Asia-Pacific region in revenue generation by 2015.
