Belgacom TV revenues up 125% in Q1

May 19, 2008 - Belgian incumbent Belgacom has revealed in its results for the first quarter of this year that revenues from its "Belgacom TV" IPTV service rose 125% in the period relative to the same three months of last year, reaching a total of €18mn.

The total number of subscribers for the TV service rose by 43,931 during the period to reach 349,250. Average revenue per user (ARPU) also rose from €13.40 to €17,40 per month by the same year-on-year comparison.

Belgacom's total revenue for the first three months of this year fell 3% year-on-year to reach €1.469bn, with the company saying that price cuts imposed by European and local regulators were to blame for the decline.
