United Telecoms selects triple-play solution from UTStarcom
May 9, 2008 – UTStarcom has announced that it has been awarded a contract by Indian telco United Telecoms to deliver a triple-play solution to enable the latter to provide IPTV, broadband and VoIP services in the state of Goa.
UTStarcom is to integrate its RollingStream IPTV, Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network (GEPON) and mSwitch solutions into United Telecom’s new GEPON/fibre technology network. The network will serve 0ver 100,000 subscribers ion Goa with several new services including IPTV, interactive gaming, VoIP, tele-medecine, e-governance applications, distance learning and e-commerce.
