SeaChange partners with AirTies to deliver in-home wireless video and data services

May 6, 2008 – SeaChange International has partnered with AirTies, a developer of wireless networking and broadband Internet access solutions, to deliver next generation in-home wireless distribution of video and data services.

The resulting solutions are intended to expedite deployment of IPTV services by eliminating truck rolls and swiftly enabling TVs and PCs with wireless video and data applications.  AirTies already has an installed base of 2.6mn residential gateways worldwide.

“Operators around the globe need IPTV solutions that can be rolled out quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively,” said Bill Styslinger, President and CEO of SeaChange.  “The combination of SeaChange’s TV Navigator middleware and AirTies’ M-140 set-top box creates the first wireless IPTV solution that is easy to bring into the home and brings sophisticated applications, like Caller-ID and games, to multiple television sets and computers by pressing a single button.  Automatic provisioning of the service is done by the household consumer, who also enjoys automatic software upgrades through a broadband connection.”

The initial deployments resulting from the partnership will take place in Turkey and Russia, with further projects to occur in various countries including Greece, Ukraine, India, Brazil, Germany and Israel.
