KPN adds 56,000 IPTV subscribers in Q1

April 29, 2008 – Dutch telco KPN has announced that it added 56,000 subscribers to its IPTV service in the first quarter of this year, reaching 553,000 and giving a 19% share of the country’s digital TV market.

The company’s share of the Dutch broadband market as a whole was around 44% at the end of last March, and KPN reports that it is now connecting the first customers to a new fibre to the home and fibre to the curb network to enable enhanced triple-play services.

Total revenue for the first three months of this year from all operations reached €3.57bn, an increase of 22% over the same period of last year.  Net profit for the quarter reached €334mn, giving a year-on-year increase of 6.7%.
