SPTI signs ‘day-and-date’ licensing deal with KTApril 29, 2008 – Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) has signed a ‘day-and-date’ VoD licensing deal with Korean telco KT to provide content for the latter’s “Mega TV” IPTV service.
Mega TV customers will gain access to SPTI’s TV series, such as Damages and Cashmere Mafia, after their TV broadcast, and the agreement also covers new film titles from Sony Pictures, including Vantage Point, The Water Horse and Across The Universe. The deal will also mean that SPTI movies will be available on-demand to Mega TV’s subscribers on the same day as home video/DVD release in the country, termed a ‘day-and-date’ agreement. “We are thrilled to expand our relationship with KT and enable them to continue to build upon Mega TV’s success with our hit TV shows in addition to our feature films,” said Soojin Chung, SPTI’s Executive Director of Licensing for South Korea. |
