GTA TeleGuam partners with CSI Digital and Avail Media to deliver high-definition IPTV
April 22, 2008 – Guam telco GTA TeleGuam has partnered with CSI Digital, a US provider of wholesale end-to-end solutions for service providers, and Avail Media, a US provider of linear and VoD MPEG-4 solutions, to deliver high-definition IPTV services to its subscribers on the island of Guam.
“Our first priority was to deliver a high-quality television service to our island subscribers at an attractive price point,” said Dan Moffat, CEO of GTA. “We looked for a service provider that could bring us a robust, all-digital channel line-up that included HDTV and VoD, and make it work with our network and geography. We chose the team of CSI Digital and Avail Media because these companies understood our unique challenges, have a proven track record of commercial deployments, and could keep up with the IPTV industry, which is evolving rapidly.”
GTA TeleGuam contacted CSI Digital last year to help deliver IPTV to its customers, while Avail Media has worked with CSI Digital previously to enable television delivery for operators over multiple broadband network types and configurations.
